Electrical engineering projects in RF systems, robotics, automation, and embedded systems

I’m an electrical engineer currently employed in the automotive industry in the Twin Cities area, and in my spare time I explore a wide ranging swath of electronics sub-disciplines through my hobby projects. The work I do professionally at the moment is mostly limited to low voltage controls and systems integration; the work I do in my free time allows me to hone my skills in other areas such as embedded systems, radio-frequency design, robotics, and FPGA development.

I am somewhat restless and undisciplined, so I am afraid that not every project displayed on this site is complete, or will ever be complete but I will strive to update things regularly as I make progress. This website is meant to be a repository of all my design work, including schematics, Gerber files, code, and CAD models.
Unless stated otherwise everything here is original work by me and does not use any designs or other IP from employers past or present.

You can begin exploring by selecting a project from the drop down menu, at the moment they are arranged in no particular order.

There is no overarching pattern to the projects I choose to pursue, except perhaps that I am most compelled by radiofrequency design and embedded systems. Often I will begin a project spontaneously after seeing new or exiting hardware for sale, and then mold something around that. Other times I will chose a project specifically because it overlaps with something I am working with in my professional life, like satellite communications of vehicle CAN bus.
